Paint Spraying

ISS paint spraying provides for basic, decorative and high architectural finishes. Working closely with fabricators, steel is painted to the highest specification from identification of pin spots and fabrication defects, to sealing stainless steel components to fully protect them from paint.

There are two methods are spray application, conventional air spray and air less spraying. In the most part we use airless spraying where by paint is compressed in the spray lines and forced through a small oracle in the spray gun. Because the paint is under high pressure it atomises when released through the oracle. The main advantages of using airless spraying are listed below.

Much higher productions rates to build up uniform thick film thicknesses, especially important in the application of intumescent coatings.

The spray pump can operate directly from the manufacturers paint container, unlike conventional air spray where the paint has to be pressurised in the spray pot.

Overspray and blowback are much reduced.

High solids paint can be applied which is especially important to comply with VOC emission targets. Little or no additional thinning of the paint is required.

ISS have four spray pumps operated from a large air compressor, which draw from 200L paint drums. We also have smaller motor driven mobile pumps that operate out of 20L pales.

ISS has also set up at the request of clients an on-site painting service – Industrial Site Painting Services. Now, for the first time erection damage and steel exposure due to refurbishment requirements can be rectified on site, to the same high specification of the original workshop coating.
